uvex rise pro MIPS – Safety "made in Germany" for the UCI WorldTour 2023 and ambitious cyclists!
The rise pro MIPS by uvex presented itself as the only helmet "made in Germany" at the UCI WorldTour 2023 and sets new benchmarks for performance helmets. Despite its quality standard, the road helmet ranks in the highest racing class among the most affordable MIPS helmets. The road helmet impresses with the lightness of the rise standard model, because the uvex developers have managed to include the MIPS safety feature without increasing the overall weight of the helmet. MIPS Air technology reduces rotational forces in the event of a fall; it is integrated as a coating on the back of the padding and is therefore neither visible nor noticeable.

In order to optimise the balance between safety, aerodynamics and comfort, which is important for ambitious cyclists, uvex has not only been able to increase safety in a weight-neutral way while maintaining top aerodynamics, but has even been able to enhance comfort in everyday racing. The helmet's strap system, for example, was completely renewed: Straps in a herringbone look are routed via flat Y-distributors and a lightweight buckle. Combined with the ANATOMIC 3D IAS pro system, which allows for height and width adjustment to different head sizes and shapes, you will immediately enjoy the comfortable wear.

What’s more, the model also received a visual upgrade, as all EPS ridges on the helmet surface are now covered with a PC shell. With their finish, they blend harmoniously into the modern matt-gloss design of the road helmet.

The rise pro MIPS celebrated its racing premiere on 1 July 2023 at the Tour de France. Intermarché-Circus-Wanty entered this most important cycling race of the year with a striking white edition of the road helmet.

MIPS: WHAT IS MIPS?
MIPS (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System) is a slip-plane system within the helmet. It is designed to rotate inside the helmet and thus slow down or reduce the impact energy acting on the brain, which helps reduce head injuries caused by rotational impacts.

WHY IS MIPS IMPORTANT?
When a head rotates quickly and comes to a sudden stop, the rotational acceleration may cause the brain tissue to experience high levels of strain. This stretching of the tissue caused by these motions may result in various types of brain injury. MIPS is designed with the intent to address rotational acceleration from impact.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
MIPS uses a slip-plane system that moves inside the helmet, mimicking the brain’s own protection system. This layer is designed to rotate inside the helmet with the intent to potentially slow or reduce the amount of energy transferred to or from the head. Science tells us that if we can reduce the strains associated with rotational acceleration, we might reduce the risk and severity of brain injury.

DOUBLE INMOULD:
The EPS liner shell is almost inseparably joined with a polycarbonate outer shell. The polycarbonate outer shell provides additional protection and protects the edges of the helmet from damages.

ANATOMIC 3D IAS:
Individual width and height adjustment with one hand only. A rubber coated dial provides improved grip.
