With "plant down" through winter training: The P-M x C x K thermal jacket by PROTECTIVE is an environmentally conscious and insulating layer for your winter training outfit.

At the core of the bike jacket are ergonomically placed inserts made of FLOCUS padding. They are made partly from recycled synthetic fibres and partly from Kapok plant fibres. The hollow kapok fibres used in this outdoor jacket are characterised by ideal thermal insulation as well as naturally antibacterial properties. In addition, this jacket comes with three practical zipped pockets that offer space for your snacks, smartphone & such.

Highlights & Technologies:

FLOCUS:
PROTECTIVE does not use thermal insulation sourced from animals. Feathers and down materials have been replaced by natural or synthetic fibres, such as flocus, a "plant down" obtained from kapok trees. The regenerative properties of kapok trees means that they require no irrigation, no pesticides and no fertiliser. They can grow on hills in a biodiverse environment, as well as on land that is not suitable for agricultural purposes – resulting in 100% positive impact on the environment. The biodegradable kapok fruit is also not considered a source of food.
Further advantages of kapok padding:
• Hollow fibre insulation – cool in summer, warm in winter
• Natural wax coating – water repellent
• Naturally has antibacterial properties

PFC FREE:
PFC stands for per- and polyfluorinated chemicals. These are nearly non-biodegradable and distribute in the environment, so that they also accumulate in organisms. They have already been identified in drinking water and in the food chain. PROTECTIVE does not use any PFC, this means:
• Use of PFC-free, water-repellent finishes
• Use of PFC-free membranes (e.g. made of polyurethane)
• Completely new production processes

TECTRON:
The recycled polyester material, e.g. made from plastic bottles, is not just brought back to life, but also saves energy and water.
• Gives polyester fibre, which is non-biodegradable and would end up in landfills or dumped in the sea, a second life
• Reduces waste and thus reduces toxic emissions from incinerators
• Recycling PET bottles into rPET yarns uses approx. 59% less energy and reduces CO2 emissions by 32% compared to conventional polyester
• Reduces the extraction of crude oil and natural gas from the Earth to make more plastic.
