Rose PDQ Update: New 9.3-kilo lightweight strikes the perfect balance between efficiency and riding enjoyment

An already impressive bike is now even better: Rose Bikes is unveiling a comprehensive update to its successful cross-country mountain bike, the PDQ (Pretty Damn Quick). From 20 August 2026, the revamped range will hit the trails with fresh frame colours, electronic groupset, extremely lightweight carbon wheels and a new suspension fork.

New design for the Trail: Pretty Damn Hot

The latest update replaces the previous PDQ model and gives the platform an instant makeover. The lightweight carbon frame now takes centre stage in two striking new colours: Silver and Dark Pearl. This means the PDQ isn’t just pretty damn quick, but also pretty damn hot.

The tried-and-tested Down-Country geometry remains at the heart of the design: it combines the ideal balance of stiffness and flexibility for fast climbs with the confident handling that you’d otherwise only expect from a trail bike on the descents.

The PDQ X0 AXS: Cross-country has never been this much fun.

For those who refuse to compromise when chasing personal bests, the new PDQ X0 AXS is the ultimate machine. The clever combination of components, paired with the lightweight carbon frame, brings the weight of the PDQ Premium model in size M down to an extremely light 9.3 kilograms.

Shifting is handled by the top-of-the-range SRAM X0 Eagle AXS groupset. Even under the toughest competition conditions, the bike delivers precise gear changes in every gear. For optimal training control, an SRAM X0 AXS Eagle power metre is fitted as standard. This high-end drivetrain is paired with the super-light, World Cup-proven NEWMEN Phase 30 Light carbon wheels.

The 30 mm-wide carbon rims, featuring a reliable FADE MTB hub and Continental Dubnital Race Rapid tyres, guarantee maximum speed and propulsion. The new RockShox SID Select+ 2P with 120 millimetres of travel at the front provides the necessary control. Its 35-mm chassis, optimised for stiffness, and the RUSH XC damping offer the ride feel of an enduro fork combined with the efficiency of a classic XC fork.

Maximum efficiency: the PDQ XT Di2

The second setup is aimed at mountain bikers who demand the very best in efficiency and confident handling. The PDQ XT Di2 centres on the high-quality 1x12 Shimano Deore XT Di2 groupset. Precisely adjusted chain tension in the lower gears makes the drivetrain particularly quiet and durable. Thanks to the enormous gear range of 510 per cent and HYPERGLIDE+ technology, the bike climbs any hill with ease and guarantees smooth gear changes without interrupting your pedalling in any situation.

Power measurement on this efficient powerhouse is handled by an Inpeak power metre. The superb setup is rounded off by the lightweight and robust NEWMEN Forge 30 Light aluminium wheelsets, as well as the outstanding handling of the RockShox SID Base 2P fork with 120 mm of travel.

The result is a bike that’s efficient, great at sprinting and capable of climbing, whilst also being a massive blast on the descents. Simply PDQ – Pretty Damn Quick.

Prices and availability

The PDQ update will be available from 20 August 2026. The premium PDQ X0 AXS model is priced at 4,000 euros, whilst the PDQ XT Di2 is available for 3,200 euros.
