The DT Swiss GRC 1400 DICUT® 50 rear wheel was developed for gravel riders who want maximum aerodynamics, agility and reliability on fast gravel sections.
The 50 mm deep carbon rim offers an optimised aerodynamic profile that is specially designed to cut efficiently through the wind at higher speeds. This makes the wheel ideal for KOM/QOM hunting, fast training rides and all situations in which speed is the top priority. 

Thanks to the special manufacturing process, the elegant carbon fibre rim ring does not require any additional processing steps once it has come out of the production mould. The result is a lightweight, robust and dimensionally stable rim body that is specially designed for the high loads of gravel tours. The modern design allows the system wheel to glide efficiently over gravel and, what’s more, it also ensures an optimal balance of stability and comfort.
In combination with the high-quality DT Swiss 240 DICUT® hub with its proven Ratchet EXP freehub system and DT aero comp® II spokes, DT Swiss promises reliable performance even under demanding conditions.

Technologies:

• PURE CARBON TECHNOLOGY:
A special manufacturing process for carbon rims in which the outer fibres are not separated but are processed continuously. This results in very robust, impact-resistant rims with a uniform structure and minimal irregularities.
The rims are given a high-quality finish by an outer carbon layer and can be used straight from the mould. Air pockets, resin build-up and additional coatings are avoided, which improves durability as well as appearance and also provides weight advantages. 

• AERO+:
The symbiosis of air resistance, handling and efficiency. – The optimisation of the wheel aerodynamics by DT Swiss in cooperation with SWISS SIDE reduces rotational and air resistance for low-friction acceleration and controlled steering behaviour in crosswinds. In combination with a larger inner rim dimension for wider tyres, rolling resistance is also reduced. Traction and comfort are enhanced by the wide contact patch.

• RATCHET EXP SYSTEM:
Thanks to the integration of star ratchet and thread ring, this is currently the lightest ratchet freewheel system from DT Swiss. The start ratchets for the Ratchet EXP system have 36 or 54 teeth for a particularly small engagement angle. The system stands out for high reliability thanks to the simultaneous meshing of the teeth, which leads to significantly lower point loads. The no-tool concept allows easy maintenance and tool-free conversion to common axle and freehub body standards.

• PRO LOCK®:
DT Pro Lock® prevents the spoke-nipple connection from loosening. In the Pro Lock® process, a special dual component adhesive is injected into the nipple thread, allowing for extremely durable wheel builds. By threading the nipple onto the spoke the adhesive is activated and then hardens completely within a few hours. Re-truing the wheel is possible, yet it will cause a slight decrease in the adhesive power each time.

• TUBELESS:
All DT Swiss wheels are tubeless ready. The profiles of the DT Swiss rims are specially designed for tubeless use. The rim profile makes it easier to fit the right tyre and ensures a perfect fit. The tubeless system of the rim consists of DT Swiss tubeless ready tape for sealing and a DT Swiss tubeless valve in a length that complies with the rim. When using tubeless ready tyres, a compatible sealant must be used. However, it is also possible to use a conventional combination of tyre and inner tube.

• BEARINGS:
Having learned from years of experience, DT Swiss only uses durable cartridge bearings without bearing play adjustment. DT Swiss hubs are designed to have the optimum axial and radial bearing play when they are properly installed. The correct preload of the bearings to compensate for the clamping force of the wheel mounting system is the basis for a play-free hub with minimum friction.
